HOW DO I START THE PROCESS?

HOW SOON CAN WE START THE PROJECT?

Based on your requested kick off date we will establish the length of time for onboarding and will be able to kick off as close to your kick off date as possible.

Custom branding and website design projects take approximately 1-2 weeks to complete. (photography will extend project timelines)


HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR WITH THE DESIGN OF MY BRANDING AND WEBSITE?

For each service with SMC there are specific intake forms to collect all the information in addition your creation of a Pinterest board that is shared with us.


DO YOU HAVE JUST A LOGO OPTION?

Because we have seen the success and longevity of a strategic brand package, we do not offer singular logo design. We believe that an investment in your brand deserves having every piece of the puzzle that you will need to succeed.


ARE THERE ADDITIONAL COSTS?

Yes. Your website will be hosted with Squarespace which will have an annual hosting fee. Check their pricing out here. I can also save you 20% off your first year; so don’t get too excited and purchase on your own. You will also need a domain which can typically be free your first year and cost approximately $20 USD per year when registered with Squarespace. (We can also handle the domain registration for you.)

Should you already have a domain registered elsewhere, don’t worry, that is awesome and SMC can just direct it to your new website with Squarespace.

Other possible costs:

Photography studio space (ranges from $50-$100 per hour pending the studio)
Extra travel time for Photographer

Additional website pages $150 each plus cost of copywriting
Online Scheduler (Ranges. Please visit scheduler of choice for their pricing)
Email Marketing Program (Ranges. Please visit program of choice for their pricing)

Should your project include work at the hourly rate it is $150/hr + HST.

Connecting your scheduler, email marketing platform are included in your Website Design package.


WHAT MAINTENANCE (IF ANY) IS REQUIRED BY ME ONCE YOU ARE DONE THE WEBSITE?

None! Other than if elements of your business change (services, pricing, contact info) no continual maintenance is required.

SEO set up is included in your service package and, unless your business changes, will not need continue maintenance.

Should you require updates to your website (new services, team changes, contact info, etc.) we can absolutely help you with this at our hourly rate. But our sites are so user friendly you should have no problem changing anything on your own after we have shown you how it all works.


WHAT IF I’M NOT LOCAL, HOW DOES THAT WORK?

No problem! The only SMC service that wouldn’t be offered is assisting in sourcing Photography.

The entire process is online so whether you are down the street or across the globe the process remains the same.

In the event a client doesn’t have their own professional photos to use, licensed stock photography will be used instead.


WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME TO DESIGN AND BUILD MY WEBSITE?

Branding is a must! Logos, fonts, colour palette, whether designed by SMC, you or another designer, this is required to ensure your new website is consistent with your business’ branding.

Professional photography for your new site is very important however in certain circumstances we can source licensed stock photography and these photos can be changed out anytime.

If you prefer to use your own Photographer that is no problem. Provide them with the shot list to ensure they capture what is needed for our project.


DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?

Yes! SMC has a number of clients who are looking to get a website launched as soon as possible. Once we book the project, that means we do not book anyone else. The deposit fee of 50% is non-refundable to make sure that we honour the project timeline we have set aside just for you, and our other clients.


WHO IS THE OWNER OF THE WEBSITE, DOMAIN AND LOGO FILES AT THE END OF THE PROJECT?

You! At the beginning of our project your new Squarespace site is created under my name to provide you the 20% off your first year but once the project is done the website ownership is transferred over to you.

Domain/URL ownership is also registered under your name and never mine.

Custom Branding includes 3 Logo file types for each of your logos, Primary, Alternate + Icon. (PNG, JPEG, EPS) are provided at the end of our project. Yes, this means Vector files are included.

Each logo will be provided in your brand colours.


CURRENCY & HST

All prices listed are in Canadian dollars and applicable taxes will be added to your invoice.

Yes! We can accept e-transfers (Canadian banks only) and all major credit cards.
